Idaho has a lot of potatoes, a lot of Melaleuca products, and a lot of recreation, and it seems the Gem State has a lot of something else: sightings of of the paranormal. Idaho is a hotspot for the phenomenon of UFOs and Bigfoot encounters.

That is, of course, if you do the math using per-capita accounts.

In June 2020, satelliteinternet.com released a report that showed Idaho having the highest number of UFO sightings per capita. Coming in at a close second is Montana, which is another Rocky Mountain state with wide-open skies and very little light pollution to obstruct star gazing and sky viewing. According to the report, nearly 1 out of 10,000 Idahoans witnesses a UFO last year (9.18 UFO sightings per 100,000 people). As far as TOTAL number of reported UFO sightings, that distinction goes to Florida with a whopping 567 sightings last year. And though Montana is in second place (using the per capita calculation), it really is a close shave with a reported 9.16 sightings per 100,000 people.

And what about Bigfoot?

It’s almost as if E.T. and Bigfoot are coordinating their Idaho appearances because the report-rate for Bigfoot encounters in Idaho is pretty close to the same as the report-rate for UFOs! What qualifies as an “encounter” with the Squatch is slightly different than what qualifies as an “encounter” with a UFO. An encounter with Bigfoot qualifies if the person merely “hears” the beast. It doesn’t require the person to have visual contact with Bigfoot. Whereas, with UFOs, reports are almost universally eye-witness accounts. When it comes to “hearing” UFOs, most witnesses say they cannot hear any sound emitting from the craft(s).

UFO reports are on the rise all over the world. So are sightings of Bigfoot. But, hey, it’s to expected, right? After all, it is the year 2020. . .
